Ever wonder what it’s like to fly like royalty? What it’s like to not be smooshed between two people for 14 hours? How anyone could actually get a good night sleep on be on a plane and walk off feeling and looking refreshed?
Last month I got a little teaser for what it’s like to fly in first class on one of the most luxurious airline experiences of them all…the Emirates A380
This opportunity came a year after I arrived to New Zealand on the EmiratesA380 (a rather dramatic flight that ended in a 60 hour journey and a surprise upgrade to first class!)
This time around I was on the other side, preparing to welcome the South Island’s first daily A380, which just so happened to belong to Emirates.
I was lucky enough to get a behind-the-scene look at what the lucky 2% of the world get to fly like. And while I still stand by my previous blog post statement in that flying in general is a luxurious experience (even if it is economy class seating), flying first class in the Emirates A380 would make it difficult to ever go back to economy seating and let alone business class seating!!
There is around the clock catering (which is 5 star status)…
a bar that is open with a premium stock of nibbles and drinks….
your own mini-bar at your seat….
a flat-lying seat and a room full of stars to help you sleep….
a plasma tv that is nearly bigger than the seat….
access to your own onboard spa/shower that is bigger than most Manhattan apartments….
and an experience that you will never, ever forget.
